Spain Plans New 3,000 MW Renewable Energy Auction With New Administrative Controls

The Industry Minister is preparing a new renewable energy auction, which it expects to be able to complete before the end of March. It plans to invite tenders for 3,000 technology neutral MW. That means an auction in which any kind of renewable energy can compete: wind, biomass, thermosolar, photovoltaic etc.

Spanish government confirms bidding rules for upcoming 3 GW auction

The decree implementing the auction was published in the country’s official journal on Saturday. Solar seems to have more options compared to the previous 3 GW auction, in which only 1.5 MW of PV was contracted.
